He was granted one thousand seven hundred dollars in 1937 and two thousand two hundred dollars in 1938 to revise his doctoral thesis and continue postdoctoral work at Harvard University. A 1939 grant of two thousand five hundred dollars for study in Paris and Stockholm was also awarded, but was surrendered due to the war.
