A 1946 fellowship application and 1948 follow-up, for Henderson Sheridan Davis, an instructor at Payne Theological Seminary, to evaluate the role of religion in Negro adjustment, 1800 to 1865. He proposed to study for a Ph.D. at Boston University. Included are handwritten notes assessing his candidacy.
