An application from Horace Roscoe Cayton, requesting a grant towards a study on the Negro upper class and obtaining a Ph.D. at the University of Chicago. Mr. Cayton reapplied for another grant for September 1948 towards bringing to bear the Race problem the concepts of the discipline of Psychoanalysis. Included is a memorandum summarizing the grants awarded to Mr. Cayton across 1937 and 1938, as well as a record of professional career and a handwritten note.
