An application from Lloyd George Carr, requesting a grant for 1946 to investigate the historical and sociological background of the so-called "Issue Group" of Indian-whites on the east side of the Blue Ride in Amherst County, Virginia. This was to obtain a Ph.D. degree at the University of Pennsylvania under the direction of Dr. Frank G. Speck. Included is a list of his publications, and a handwritten note.
