An application from John Tyler Caldwell, requesting a grant towards working on the problem of reform in local administartion of the general property tax in the Southern states, especially Mississippi, and obtain a Ph.D. degree at Princeton University. Mr. Caldwell reapplied for another grant towards continuing work at Princeton University. Included is a memorandum summarizing the grants awarded, as well as his record of professional career and a handwritten note.
