A 1937 and 1941 applications from Ulysses Simpson Brooks, requesting a grant towards determining whether certain salts are completely ionized and to study the theory of Debye and Huckel, and to spend the summer of 1941 in the laboratory at the University of Chicago, and obtain a Ph.D. degree. The application also includeds is a memorandum summarizing the grants awarded to Mr. Brooks as well as his record of professional career.
