An application from Brailsford Reese Brazeal, requesting a grant in 1938, to study the origin and development of the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters, an internal union chartered by the American Federation of Labor, and to obtain a Ph.D. at Columbia University. In addition to an application in 1946 towards writing the history of the Fair Employment Practices Commission. Included is a memorandum summarizing the grants awarded to Mr. Brazeal, as well as his record of professional career and handwritten notes.
