Description
An applications from Marcus Hanna Boulware, requesting for a nine month grant beginning September 1946. The plan of work was to prepare a thesis titled A History of American Negro Oratory and obtain a Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin under the supervision of Dr. Henry L. Ewbank. Mr. Boulware reapplied for a one-year grant beginning June 1947 to study the field of Speech. Included in the documents is a handwritten note.
