Description
-
An application from Vivian Jones Beamon, requesting a 1-year grant towards learning how the school can provide for basic human needs that counteract internalized fears which determine behavior in persons who know deep deprivations and complex conflicts. The plan of work was to obtain a Ph.D. degree in Education at New York University under the supervision of Dr. H.H. Giles. This application was submitted in 1948, and the chosen field is Education. Also included is a memorandum summarizing the grant awarded to Ms. Beamon in 1948, as well as a handwritten note: "[illegible] Even if she's a little over age, this is a top candidate".
