Description
-
Correspondence from Mr. William Grant Still to Mr. William C. Haygood returning the manuscript of Mr. Fields and Mr. Fax. Mr. William Grant Still is pleased with the group of scores, as they show talent and constructive efforts. They prefer Fax over Fields due to his technical equipment, knowledge of counterpoint and orchestration, and melodic sense. Fax uses an intellectual, cacophonous style of writing, but uses it for his own purposes. Mr. Grant Still will examine the third package, Fax's additional works, when it arrives.
