The Negroes are so prond of the school that they call it the "College". It was named for a negro farmer in the community who was not satisfied with the old log house shown at the left." An additional note identifies the "Cost of school $2150. Negroes $500. Public 1150. The Fund 500. Has classroom, a community room, two cloak rooms, two sanitary privies. The school is equipped with modern desks. SL."

No aid is given by the Fund, but the negro district directors agree to pay for the remodeling and to buy a library. It has a modern jacket store and good desks. D.L.S."
